 Overview
AC Mister combines a number of features in such a way as to make it possible
for customers to be able to improve the efficiency of their current air
conditioner with a very simple installation. AC Mister will also reduce the
power consumption of current air conditioners, both window and central
types.
The increased efficiency of current air conditioner systems comes from the
application of several engineering principles. Water under available
pressure is released through a nozzle to produce a spray mist into the
incoming air
stream of the compressor.
The Process
First, the water is slightly cooled as the pressure is released. Second, and
most important, as the water mist is released into the air stream it
evaporates almost instantly and reduces the temperature of the cooling air
to the condenser coils by about 20°F. Third, some of the moisture will wet
the cooling coil surfaces, which will transfer heat more efficiently.
Fourth, the moisture in contact with the elevated temperature of the cooling
coil will evaporate to provide additional cooling.
The Effect
The effect of this improved cooling
will reduce the power input required by the compressor to provide
high-pressure liquid (Freon or other). The high-pressure liquid going to
the condenser will also be at a reduced temperature.
